Social Enterprise Academy Nigeria is developed in partnership with Social Enterprise International (UK). Because we have an established and creditable brand and methodology, we are able to form many partnerships and strategic alliance with Captains of industries in public, private and social sectors to provide support for our initiative. We connect organisations and resources needed to create, grow and celebrate Social Enterprise Academy. To ensure that this education is accessible to those who would not ordinarily be able to afford it, the Academy operates on a scholarship model; offered to all participants through the generous contributions of public and private sector partners committed to social change.

The university is the eighth largest university in the UK (out of 166) with 31,485 students (of whom 4,400 are international student), 4,494 staff and 708 courses.

Lagos State University, LASU - was established in 1983 by the enabling Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, for the advancement of learning and establishment of academic excellence. The university caters for a population of over 35,000 students enrolled for full-time. LASU is the only state university in the former British colony. The University hosts Social Enterprise Academy in the campus.

 

 

UI partnerUniversity of Ibadan, UI, established 68 years ago, as it is fondly referred to, is the first University in Nigeria. Until 1962 when it became a full-fledged independent University, it was a College of the University of London in a special relationship scheme. UI is currently one of the best 1000 Universities in the World. The University hosts Social Enterprise Academy in the campus.

The Network currently brings together +30 civil society and social economy organizations: trade unions, mutual benefit societies, associations, cooperatives, international institutions for well-being of educational and quality education. The Social Enterprise International (SEI) is an agency based in the United Kingdom to create awareness of the potential and opportunities of social enterprise, share knowledge and experience of how to create and grow successful social enterprise, develop courses, training materials and other tools that lead to good governance and effective management of social enterprise and work with partner organisations globally to build up a network of social enterprise institutions through the use of Social license agreements.

SEI has active Directors in France, Poland, Italy and Indonesia, It is a collective network of Educators, consultants and advocates for social enterprise in four continents. The Directors, their Associates and Social License Holders have worked in 50 countries and have been in the forefront of social enterprise development for the past 20 years.

Our Social License Holders operate in Poland, Croatia, Turkey, France (Global network), Indonesia, East Africa, Kenya and include the Nigerian Capital Development Fund in Nigeria. Like all social enterprises SEI is governed by their social objectives to help create fair, equitable and sustainable societies in all countries, with a high quality of life for all citizens.
